CNN Breaking News

The U.S. will take a "hard look" at a Russian proposal for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to put his nation's chemical weapons under international control, but "we have some serious skepticism" about whether al-Assad would follow through, said State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf.
She told reporters today that al-Assad has previously resisted efforts to get rid of chemical weapons and this development could be a stalling tactic.
