CNN Breaking News

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is expected to present a U.N. chemical weapons inspectors report on Syria at 11 a.m. ET Monday to members of the Security Council, three diplomatic sources said.

The report delves into chemical weapons used on August 21 on the outskirts of Damascus. Noting the fluidity of the situation, the sources said tonight that the timing of the presentation could change.

The United States blames Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime for the attack and has threatened a military strike intended to prevent further use of the banned weapons. Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting with his Russian counterpart, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, to try to work out a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
