Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland has won the British Open, winning the golf tournament by 3 strokes.
This was the first major win for Clarke, 42, who has played on five Ryder Cup teams, most memorably the 2006 team. He was a captain's pick shortly after his wife died of cancer, and he led the team to victory at the K Club in Ireland.
Players from Northern Ireland have won three of the last six majors, and two in a row -- Rory McIlroy at the 2011 U.S. Open and Graeme McDowell at the 2010 U.S. Open.
