The Texas Rangers have reached the World Series for the second straight year, defeating the Detroit Tigers 15-5 in Game 6 of ALCS. They will face the winner of the St. Louis Cardinals-Milwaukee Brewers NLCS.

The Rangers sent 14 batters to the plate in the third inning, scoring nine runs on six hits, three walks and an error.

All Texas runs in the third inning were earned. Tigers starter Max Scherzer gave up six runs in the third. Two Detroit relievers also worked the third inning.

The Tigers jumped to a 2-0 lead after solo home runs by Miguel Cabrera in the first and Jhonny Peralta in the second.
