CNN Breaking News

Stocks soared Tuesday on signs of strength in the U.S. housing market, as concerns about the European debt crisis eased.

Banking stocks led the broader market higher, with Bank of America, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs all posting solid gains after the sector dragged stocks down on Monday.

The Dow jumped 337 points, its fourth-biggest point gain of the year. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 each gained 3%.
