The lockdown at Virginia Tech has been lifted hours after after two people, including a police officer, were killed on campus.
The Virginia Tech police officer was shot and killed just after noon after making a routine traffic stop, school officials say.
Witnesses said the shooter fled on foot toward a parking lot. A body was later found at that lot. Virginia Tech reported on its website that a weapon was found near the body.
