CNN Breaking News

With all precincts reporting, Mitt Romney has been declared the winner in the Iowa caucuses. Romney edged Rick Santorum by just 8 votes after being virtually tied throughout the night in what appears to be the tightest presidential GOP contest in U.S. history. The Iowa result itself could be the closest on state record.

Texas Rep. Ron Paul finished third, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich placed fourth, Texas Gov. Rick Perry fifth, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann sixth, and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman seventh.
