Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers has won the American League triple crown, leading the league in batting average, home runs and runs batted in.
The fete was last accomplished in 1967 by Carl Yastrzemski of the Boston Red Sox.
The third baseman finished the regular season Wednesday night with a .330 batting average, 44 home runs and 139 RBI.
