CNN Breaking News

Vice President Joe Biden says he'll give recommendations to President Obama by Tuesday on how to reduce gun violence.

Biden is heading a task force that is meeting with numerous groups this week, including some for and some against stricter gun controls. He is scheduled to sit down with representatives of the National Rifle Association later today.

On Wednesday, Biden said Obama is exploring whether executive orders could help prevent mass shootings.

The new look at gun violence in America came about as a result of the December 14 massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, that left 27 people dead -- 20 of them elementary school children.
