President Barack Obama will deliver a statement on the bombing in Boston at 6:10 p.m. ET on Monday.

Boston police confirm two dead in the blasts near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, according to Cheryl Fiandaca, head of media relations for the Boston police. Local hospitals report at least 71 patients are being treated for wounds.

Boston police investigated whether a third explosion, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, was connected to the two bombings at the marathon, Police Commissioner Ed Davis said. They decided it was related to a mechanical problem.
