CNN Breaking News

Sister of newly freed Cleveland kidnapping victim Amanda Berry briefly spoke to the media on her sister’s behalf today.

"Our family would request privacy so my sister, niece and I can have time to recover. ... Please respect our privacy until we are ready to make our statements," Beth Serrano said outside her home.

Earlier, Amanda Berry and her sisters were escorted inside the home. Police initially said Amanda Berry would address the media, but it was later announced that she would not speak publicly today.

Berry and two other women were found alive Monday in Cleveland. The women are believed to have been abducted between 2002 and 2004 and held captive at a Cleveland man's home, according to police.
