CNN Breaking News

"If in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that's outrageous and there's no place for it -- and they have to be held fully accountable," President Barack Obama told reporters today.

Obama said he learned of allegations that the IRS targeted conservative groups through news reports Friday.

The president also answered questions about his administration's handling of the attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, in September that left four Americans dead, including the U.S. ambassador.

The issue of talking points on the Benghazi attack "has been a side show," Obama said. The administration said that immediately after the attack it was unclear who had carried it out, he said. In the last few days, the issue of talking points has been "spun up," Obama argued. "There's no there there."
