CNN Breaking News

A bipartisan group from the House of Representatives reached an "agreement in principle" on immigration legislation, said Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida, a Republican member of the group.

A Democratic aide familiar with the discussions said all eight members of the group signed on and told CNN that Democrats and Republicans "will now run the whole package past their respective leadership and colleagues" and aim to formally introduce legislation at the beginning of June.

A Senate bipartisan plan is being considered by the Judiciary Committee.
