CNN Breaking News

Employers added jobs last month at a pace slightly ahead of forecasts, suggesting that the hiring rebound continues, although in a measured way.

The Department of Labor said today the economy added 175,000 jobs in May. Economists surveyed by CNNMoney had expected the report to show 158,000 jobs were added for the month.

Meanwhile, the unemployment rate ticked slightly higher to 7.6% from 7.5%.
