The judge in George Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial has rejected a prosecution request to allow jurors to consider a lesser charge of third-degree murder. Judge Debra Nelson previously ruled that jurors will be allowed to consider manslaughter in addition to the original charge of second-degree murder.
Zimmerman has admitted killing Trayvon Martin, but claims it was self-defense. Attorneys are expected to make closing arguments in the case this afternoon.
