Marion Bartoli of France on Saturday defeated Sabine Lisicki of Germany 6-1, 6-4 to win the women’s championship at Wimbledon.
The victory brings Bartoli her first grand slam title.
She had a shot at the Wimbledon championship in 2007, but lost to Venus Williams.
