Edward Snowden has been charged with theft of government property, unauthorized communication of national defense information and willful communication of classified intelligence with an unauthorized person, according to criminal complaint unsealed Friday in the U.S. District for Eastern District of Virginia.
Snowden has admitted to leaking top-secret details of U.S. surveillance programs. At the time of the leaks he held a top-secret clearance as an employee of defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton.
